About East Rock Insitute and NamMae
The East Rock Institute, founded in 1952, ERI is the oldest organization in the United States with a mission to promote broader understanding of Korean culture through research, learning and service. It houses the largest collection of original research material on Korea and the Korean diaspora outside of Korea.

East Rock Institute's Young Professionals Group, NamMae, is a network of leaders across disciplines and geographies with an interest in exploring the challenges of living in an increasingly multicultural world, especially as someone with a connection to Korea either by birth, marriage, adoption or choice. Individually and collectively, our goal is to serve global communities through authentic leadership.
